Fruit bat fruit bat of the Pteropodidae family are the natural host of this virus. It is an extremely contagious disease which can spread by coming in direct contact with fruit bats and even infected pigs. So far there is no treatment to combat the Nipah flu, but preventive measures such as not eating fruits and vegetables found in unhygenic places can be taken to stay away from Nipah virus.
